MIDNIGHT WHISPERS

A Collection of Contemporary Poems on Africa

This recalls, in verse form, issues of contemporary importance that centres not only on Nigeria but Africa as a consciousness and calls for the reawakening of Africa. With clever development and powerful use of metaphors, imageries and other poetic devices, this collection is a must-have and must-read for all who believe the African sun shall rise certainly rise again.

-Professor Tunde Babawale( Director General, Centre for Black And African Arts, CBBAAC)

A beautiful and brilliant work! A must-have in all libraries and a must-read by all lovers of good poetry.

I really appreciate what Adesina Adetola has done with his Midnight Whispers, it is a clarion call to all African, to go back to our roots and move the continent forward

-Com. Ayodele Adewale (Chairman, Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Lagos State, Nigeria.)

I have been longing for a contemporary concern for Africa ills in the face of reigning inclinations for pop culture, but here I found one.

These poems travel far and near, evolving memories and chronicling epochs. The poet persona is a griot for these times, a multi-tongued, chronicle of the ancient and the contemporary. He stutters, however, in some of the poems which appear anachronistic because of their dated subject matter. But overall, the poems are evocative lines penned by a poet with an uncommon touch.
